So here’s what people have been buzzing about this week…
Is Iron Chef Michael Symon of Cleveland scouting downtown Indy restaurant locations…and is he looking at the former 14 West building? Now that would be cool. If you haven’t been to one of Symon’s restaurants (Lola Bistro, Lolita or one of his four B Spot burger joints in Cleveland or Roast in Detroit), you can get a taste of his Super Bowl party food with these recipes from Food & Wine magazine.
The Indianapolis Business Journal has reported the news that’s had Pat Flynn’s fans crying in their Guinness — or maybe over their pork tenderloin sandwich: that the popular pub with the family-friendly game room is being sold to the owner of Murphy’s Steakhouse. The IBJ reports that the Pat Flynn’s spot will get a total makeover and will morph into Murphy’s Steakhouse after Valentine’s Day. I wonder if they’ll keep the game room, where Northside kids go through stack of quarters while their parents enjoy the convivial atmosphere and the popular pub food (I’m thinking those tenderloins and the Irish stew).
And Art Bouvier and the Papa Roux croux is wrangling with the state over back taxes. The restaurant has been shut down, and Bouvier is trying to raise the funds needed to reopen. You can read what he’s posted about the situation here and donate to the cause here.
