One of Indianapolis’ most vibrant and historic neighborhoods will welcome The Taste of Broad Ripple, an action-packed one-day festival with the best local food, beer and live music on the streets of Broad Ripple Village on Saturday, June 17, 2017.
Festival coordinators will hold a public meeting at the Indianapolis Art Center on Wednesday, June 22, at 7 p.m., which will feature an information session with Q&A, volunteer call-outs and sponsorship opportunity details.
Home to an eclectic mix of local restaurants, independently owned shops and renowned bars and brew pubs, Broad Ripple is recognized as one of the most creative areas of Indianapolis, shaped by its nearby parks, the Central Canal, the Monon Trail and the winding White River. The Taste of Broad Ripple will embody no less, representing the essence of the only Cultural District outside of downtown.
With over 10,000 people expected to attend, the Taste will feature activities for people of all ages, including a kid-friendly pizza tent where young chefs can showcase their talent, a “Chef’s Night Off” tent with a special celebrity guest, a craft beer tent exhibiting the best brews of Broad Ripple and more.
Headlining the main stage will be regular Vogue sell-out act Rod Tuffcurls and the Bench Press, an interactive party band covering sing-along hits from the ‘80s to now. More performers will be announced soon.
“I’m really excited about bringing back the Taste of Broad Ripple,” said festival organizer Steven Ross. “The Taste is a great way to show everybody what Broad Ripple Village has – a cool entertaining atmosphere, a variety of tasty cuisine and great craft beer! Come experience the flavor that is (the Taste of) Broad Ripple.”
Parking: Free shuttles will run throughout festival hours to and from the Glendale Mall parking lot and the Broad Ripple High School parking lot, both East of the area. There is no cost to park at either location.
Tickets: Available to purchase for $5 at the gate or in advance beginning September 1, 2016 at ticketfly.com. There is no cost of admission for children under 10.
