Still time to get tix for Chef vs. Bartender

Sep 29th, 2014 | by Eat Drink Indy | Events, News, Wine & Spirits

No plans on a Monday night? You can still get tickets for tonight’s Chef vs Bartender event at Thunderbird, 1127 Shelby St.

The 6 p.m. cocktail competition puts Thunderbird owner and award-winning bartender Joshua Gonzales up against chef and James Beard semifinalist Aaron Butts of Joseph Decuis restaurant in Roanoke.

Attendees can watch — and sample — during three rounds of competition. Gonzales and Butts will make their best versions of a craft cocktail based on Starlight Gin, Del Maguey Chichicapa Mezal and Journeyman Whiskey. Industry professionals will be on hand to sample and discuss the individual spirits while guests watch, taste and vote for their favorites.

The event benefits the newly formed  Indiana Craft Beverage Association, which exists to empower industry professionals, educate the community and increase the exposure of Indiana, both locally and nationally, as a serious destination for craft beverages and those who share in the philosophy of craftsmanship.

Tickets are $50 per person and are still available online or via email at Jonathon.Sellers@Glazers.com or 317-617-9021. Each ticket holder will receive a sample of all six craft cocktails (three per competitor), samples of the individual spirits and appetizers. All proceeds will benefit the ICBA.
