I couldn’t miss opening day. It was windy, but otherwise the weather was pretty good for early May, and it was great to see people out and about.
New vendor Anna Powell of Indiana Microgreens sold out of the tiny vegetable shoots that she sells for $5 per container. Peas, mustard, arugula, beets — the tiny shoots pack as much flavor as their full-grown relatives and are great on a sandwich. And that’s just what we did with the radish microgreens that we bought.
We also picked up a bunch of asparagus, some cheese from Ludwig Farmstead Creamery and a loaf of semolina from Amelia’s. All of which turned into a delicious lunch once we got home. — Jolene Ketzenberger
