No Indianapolis restaurants on AAA four- and five-diamond list

The 2014 AAA Diamond Ratings are out, and it isn’t good news for Indianapolis.

Neither the city nor the state has a five-diamond restaurant. Just for comparison, Illinois, for example, has seven, all in Chicago (Acadia, Alinea, Arun’s Everest, Grace Restaurant, Sixteen and Tru). Kentucky has one, the Oak Room in Louisville.

In the four-diamond category, Indiana has just four – none in Indianapolis: Restaurant Tallent in Bloomington; Joseph Decuis in Roanoke; and the LaSalle Grill and The Carriage House, both in South Bend. Kentucky has four, all in Louisville (Corbett’s – An American Place, the English Grill, Vincenzo’s Restaurant and Z’s Oyster Bar and Steakhouse). Michigan has five four-diamond restaurants, and Ohio has 10, including five in Cincinnati.

So what’s up with Indianapolis?

We do have seven four-diamond hotels, but apparently Indianapolis restaurants need to step up the game to hit that four-diamond list.
