New Year’s Eve: It’s not too late

Go ahead — give ’em a call. You just might snag that last-minute New Year’s Eve reservation for your favorite restaurant.

As late as yesterday, some local restaurants were still posting on Twitter that tables were available for a New Year’s Eve dinner.

If you don’t mind eating early or late, a quick search on Open Table (conducted just after 11 a.m. on New Year’s Eve) turned up tables for two at a variety of local dining spots, from Corner Wine Bar and The Loft restaurant at Traders Point Creamery to Meridian and the North End Barbecue & Moonshine to Cobblestone Grill and the Northside Social.

And some spots, such as Rook or Thunderbird, don’t take reservations but will still have a special New Year’s Eve menu.
