Downtown Indianapolis gains a new bakery with the March 31 opening of A&M Bakery Café. Located inside the 101 West Ohio Street Building in the first floor lobby, the cafe will offer a full breakfast and lunch menu.
Local accountant George Taylor, who has been selling his baked goods at the Binford, Irvington and North United Methodist Church farmers’ markets for almost a decade, says he is finally fulfilling his dream. Named after his two daughters, Apphia and Mariska, his new A&M Bakery Café will be open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
“This has been a dream since 2005 when I first started baking cookies for sale,” Taylor said in a release announcing the bakery’s opening. “My customers kept telling me to open a walk-in bakery. Now I am, and with A&M Bakery Café, I hope to offer the best baked goods in Indy.”
Breakfast offerings include Taylor’s signature cinnamon rolls, plus fruit, donuts and bagels. The lunch menu features sandwiches, wraps, soups and a salad bar plus Taylor’s carrot cake, key lime cake and caramel brownies.
