A new quick-service pizza place will open May 12 in Carmel at 365 W. 116th St. Coalition Pizza will offer artisan-style pizzas with housemade crusts and sauce that are cooked in a high-temperature, open-flame oven.
The high heat means that pizzas will be done in 3 to 4 minutes, say owners Scott Nahmias, Steve Nahmias and Lenny Nahmias, and the focus on quick-service is important.
“Coalition is a response to two needs,” said Scott Nahmias in a recent release. “People are busier than ever before, and they’ve also never been more conscious of the quality of the food they consume than they are now.”
Fast-casual pizza options are certainly trending, but Nahmias sees Coalition as a more diverse and upscale dining option for busy families and professionals.
“You order and pay at the counter, and you get the food quickly, but you don’t have to stand in line to receive your food,” Nahmias said. “You have runners bringing your food to your table on real plates. And while pizza is a key item of ours, we also offer a huge variety of freshly made entree salads, sandwiches and pasta dishes.” — Jolene Ketzenberger
