Taste of the NFL chili cookoff at Recess

Despite Sunday’s snowstorm, the Taste of the NFL chili cookoff at Recess happened as planned — even though the snow continued to fall and the restaurant at 49th Street and College Avenue lost power during the event. CANvitational craft beer fest a hit

The first Sun King CANvitational canned craft beer fest was Sept. 28 on Georgia Street in downtown Indianapolis. Beautiful weather  helped, but the real star was the excellent canned craft beer from top-notch brewers across the country.

I stopped by Shoefly Public House recently to see how things are coming along on renovation of the building at 122 E. 22nd St. Owner Craig Mariuttto tells me it should be just a few more weeks till the massive remodeling project wraps up. I’m looking forward to seeing inside!

New chef at Hal’s in Greenwood
