A busy week: Hoosier Momma, Mardi Gras and Northside Nights

Mar 3rd, 2014 | by Eat Drink Indy | News

Lots going on this week…Erin Edds and Hoosier Momma have kicked off an Indigogo crowd-funding campaign to raise money to revamp Hoosier Momma’s e-commerce offerings and create a fulfillment center that employs persons with disabilities.  As part of International Womens Day, Indiegogo will contribute $1 for every $25 raised on all of its #WomensDay campaigns, including Hoosier Momma’s. You can check out a video about the project here.

Tuesday, of course, is Mardi Gras, and the Indianapolis City Market is hosting its “Market Gras” Mardi Gras Gumbo Cook-Off. The all-ages event runs from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. March 4 and features gumbo from 10 local chefs. Adult tickets are $30 per person; tickets for kids 6 to 17 are $10. You can order tickets here.

And the Northside Nights restaurant promotion starts today and runs through March 16. More than 40 restaurants are participating with specially priced menus. Many are $30 or $35 per person for three-course meals. Some restaurants offer two-for-$30 or even two- for-$20 deals. You can check menus here. — Jolene Ketzenberger
